Happy Birthday
Today I would like to say “Happy Birthday” to two friends – “one silver and the other gold” as the age old song goes. First, my girlfriend Jill. We met when I was 5 and have shared so much together. Although we don’t get to see each other as often as I would like to, when we do re-connect it is as if we were together yesterday:)
We have made a new friendship with Daniel. Our kids love him because he has fun (but sometimes crazy) ideas – like that it might be okay to go without a shower for a week and keep a tortoise as a pet! He can cook too, in fact his chocolate chip cookies might be better than mine…maybe(!). He and his wife Kristi have added so much to our life here, not only because of what they do but because they have opened their hearts to our family. In many ways I feel like we have always been friends. He and his wife give of themselves everyday to make this world a better place by feeding children and loving others.
